Rules

Inkgrid is a nonogram (picross) to solve against the clock. The numbers of each row and each column give, in order, the lengths of the blocks of cells to fill in, separated by at least one blank cell. Each grid has a single solution, found by logic, line after line, without ever guessing.

  • The daily challenge: one picture per size (5 × 5, 10 × 10, 15 × 15), the same for everyone, renewed at midnight (Paris time). Only your first try of the day is ranked; the next ones are practice.
  • The free run: a new picture every game, as many games as you like; your best time of the day counts.
  • The clock starts when the grid appears and does not stop, even if you leave the page. It stops when the grid you send is right; a wrong grid only costs time.
  • Week: each day, your rank in the daily challenge gives points (25 for the first, then 18, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1, and 1 point for every other ranked player).
  • With a mouse: left click to fill, right click for a cross (a cell surely blank), drag to paint several cells. With a finger: the Cross button switches the tool.

Inkgrid: the rules in brief

Fill in the grid's cells from the numbers of the rows and columns: each gives, in order, the length of a block of filled cells. Three sizes; the daily nonogram is the same for everyone.

Inkgrid: how to get better

  • Start with the big numbers: their blocks overlap in the middle of the line.
  • Mark the cells that are surely empty: they unlock the neighbouring columns.
